The Gallium is a sub-1000g monocoque frame offering an optimal blend of comfort, stiffness and light weight. It comes with an exclusive, proprietary fork that maximizes the ride characteristics designed into the frame. Explosive acceleration and perfect control in the most demanding situations are hallmarks of the Gallium.
Introduced in 2005, S3 means the down and top tube diameters vary with frame size. S3 enhances the inherent characteristics of monocoque construction, optimizing the desired ride qualities in each frame size without compromise. At the bottom bracket, downtube diameter increases by 6% from frame size XS to XL. Similarly, this tube remains 22% wider than it is tall in all frame sizes. Power transfer is direct.
The frame and Ga31 fork are designed to work as a unit. They are made in our exclusive CNC-machined molds using complementary materials. This ensures: Perfect integration of fork and frame; the bikes feel all of a piece. Perfect control through the tightest lines even at very high speed thanks to the fork’s lateral rigidity. The rear triangle distorts very little under full power; all energy applied to the crankset is transferred to the back wheel.
An ultra high-end carbon composite, 6010 HM is the result of four years of development and is exclusive to the Gallium. Computer modeling and road testing have led to a carbon formulation that presents exceptional qualities in that it soaks up road buzz without undermining the frame’s stiffness. The composite incorporates the highest-quality HM fibres layed up along different axes within the frame. Our complete control over the entire fabrication process lets us maintain some of the industry’s highest standards in terms of mechanical performance and prevents any structural failures, such as delamination.
What the numbers show: equipped with SRAM’s Red group, the Gallium in the M frame size easily breaks the UCI’s minimum weight rule of 6.8 kilos. What the numbers don’t show: that which is most meaningful. The Gallium’s impeccable handling, comfort and efficiency can’t be quantified.
For ten years now, the Horizontal Dual System has ensured that the top part of our frames absorb vibration while the lower section fully delivers power to the rear wheel. Dividing the frame into two horizontally segmented parts reduces frame weight significantly. Compared to a frame built with conventional tubes, weight can be reduced by as much as 20% while retaining all the stiffness and stability of a heavier frame.
The Argon Fit System is an optimized cycle geometry that facilitates rider positioning. AFS ensures: Easy positioning and ideal ergonomics for riders of all sizes. Optimal handling characteristics in all frame sizes.
