The Heel 'n' Wheel-a-Thon is the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation's largest national fundraising event - their version of a walk-a-thon. You can walk, run, inline skate or bike the route - anything that uses your heels or wheels! The routes are usually around 5 km but vary from community to community.
2007 marks the 12th annual Heel 'n' Wheel-a-Thon which over the last 11 years has grown from raising $280,000 to $1.42 million for research. However, the cost of research continues to grow and so the goal is to increase fundraising efforts by 10% this year!
So get out your bike, or grab your running shoes, or your walking stick or whatever is your thing and get on over to this website to sign up and start getting pledges.

The Innovative Fitness Canuck Place Adventure Challenge is powering forward in it's 2nd year.

This exciting adventure race will feature trail running, mountain biking, kayaking and a climbing wall. Participants can race solo, or as a team of two or four and will receive an 8-week training protocol prepared by Innovative Fitness. Weekly instructed trail running and mountain biking classes, 1 day clinic on kayaking adventure racing, continuous support to help reach individual goals. In return, we ask you to raise a minimum of $1000 in pledges. 100% of the proceeds will go to support Canuck Place Children's Hospice.

Due to the popularity of last year's event, we are now close to half full! We recommend that anyone interested in participating in this year's event register on-line through the Canuck Place website as soon as possible.

We are aiming to surpass last year's total raised of $151,000 and the excitement to date indicates that we will succeed. The prizes for top pledge totals are not to be missed!

The first trainer-led training session will take place on Tuesday, June 26th at Panorama Park in Deep Cove. Please check the website for a full 8 week training protocol for the race length of your choice along with the schedule for the 8 trainer-led sessions. Each training session will include a short information/tips segment and you will then be led by a trainer on the actual race course. We are excited and ready to go and I thank all of you for your enthusiasm and commitment to Canuck Place. We could NOT have success without you.

The sooner you register, the easier it is to meet the pledge goals...
