-=Dr Seuss=-
Our regular Tuesday morning edition of thoughts, inspirations, and musings from the bicycle world brought to you digitally and into your in box. Enjoy. Today's publication was inspired by my four month old baby and his smiles as I make an idiot of myself reading Dr. Seuss.
The Shore Needs Some Friends
On the thirteenth of November, in a room on the Shore
Gathered all the cyclists, to talk about more
More trails from the dust, co-op from the gov,
More money and people, and trails because of love
They murmured and hummed, inspired by wheels
Churning and burning, falling head over heels
But what of the closures, and why the big fights
All year we have worked, and all just for rights
Our parking is bad, our cars they can't stop
You on your bike, it is you we should chop
Eroding and congregating, all having fun
We must put a stop to this, stop even the sun
Districts and councils all heaving and blathering,
Red tape and hoops, the frustrations of the gathering
But without fail came the cries of the few but the mighty
For our children and friends, and in God the almighty
We must fight, we must try, we must hurry and be smart
For the next generation, we'll use our brain and our heart
As a group we can work, put the thoughts of the many
In front of the councils, no matter the penny
For it isn't the energy, nor even the time
It is for our fun, our lives, that we continue the climb
Can one person help, can a single make things change
Ask dear old Horton , they thought he was strange
The Shore is a family, no matter your style
Bring out your bike, your passion, your guile
We've fought for the many, we've made it to here
Now pick up your smile, jump aboard for the year
Bring your children, your sister, come help us steer
The future is bright and the future is clear
Mountain bike parks, trails, and riding clubs for the beer
Your help and your name, it's all for The Shore
Unite for the cause; lift your voice to a roar
Pick up a shovel, a phone, yes even your wallet
Gather your friends, riding buds; it's time to get on it
One rider helps; one by one it is true
The muddy, the ragged, you with a view
We must fight on; take it one day at a time
For riding the Shore can't be considered a crime.
