Andy at John Henry's built a custom road bike for me that is ever so sweet. All the best and lightest parts went into it and it is a great ride. I would recommend anyone to talk to the fellows here if they want to go custom.

John Henry Bikes has supported my racing for 8 years now. Over this time, they have helped me out countless times. I consider myself pretty handy with
maintenance on my bikes; but, more often than not, I find myself in a predicament!" My shocks keep losing air, there is a knock coming from somewhere (but only when I pedal backwards!),my brakes are

Stiff, sore, and aching you can't believe that another thumping workout is just around the corner. too hard, my brakes are too soft, my tubeless tires leak air, my tubeless tires won't fit on the rims, there's a peculiar peanut odour coming from my frame, or even my *!##!* just broke and I need a new one for the race this afternoon..."Every time, John Henry comes through. They have most things in stock, and they are always happy to help.
This is the best Bike store on the Planet!
Thanks you guys,

"I purchased my first downhill bike from John Henry. Being a rookie, I had a ton of questions, and they were excellent in answering all of them. They suited me up with a great bike that was a perfect fit for what I needed. And being a rookie, I had a ton of wipe outs. Each time I had to take my bike to the service dept, they had quick turnaround and the bike was always as good as new. Now if they only had a nurse on site for the stitches........"

To Whom It May Concern,
I have always felt comfortable with the John Henry Staff. You don't have to be an international cliff-jumping superstar to get honest, enthusiastic service from the mechanics or the sales staff. I have noticed over the years that the staff values every customer. They have the knowledge and skill to deal with anxious novice riders to video shooting all stars. I am currently student teaching in Nanaimo and have had no problems with long distance service.I would have to say that John Henry the Bicycle Man is the Gold Standard against which I measure other bicycle and snowboard shops up and down the West Coast from Haines Alaska to San Diego California.
I have attached a photo of me and the boys of one of my four Technology Education classes. Bikes are great for describing all kinds of principles from Physics to welding to business. I'll tell you, these guys are talented riders.
Thanks again for all your help guys,
-Chris Birch

Hey Darren, thanks again for the drop crown.
Just put it on and it's perfect.
I'll finally be hitting the trails over the weekend.
I guess I really did experience the JohnHenry difference.
Next time I'm in need of parts...etc. I'll be making a special trip out to N Van.

Pedals and Pints Riding Club and Leaders

Just a quick note to THANK YOU for today- you really made my reintroduction to riding really positive and inspirational. Your style of teaching is very easy to follow, and it was simply great. Thanks again, and I look forward to having you as a ride leader!
See ya Saturday,
- Leigh

I enjoyed the clinic and think it will make me a better rider. I liked
being able to practice new skills in a controlled environment with
minimal risk. I also liked the instant feedback. It was great to be
watched and then told what I did wrong so I could immediately try
to correct it. Kelly and Ruth you both did an excellent job of detection
and correction.

Employees

T o John Henry
I would like to take this opportunity to thank one of your staff; I was riding on Fromme Mountain on Friday and suffered a broken arm. Jeff Bryson who I had rode with earlier in the day came upon the accident site, and offered his assistance. The situation was under control and his help was not needed. Jeff took it upon himself to find out who I was and personally contact me; the only way he could have done this was by cross referencing repair work that had been done on my bike. I want to personally thank Jeff for taking the time and initiative to contact me; I believe Jeff is a fine example of an employee that represents your organization in the best possible light. Thank-you Jeff for caring, and you can count on it that I will be telling everyone who listens that John Henry has such excellent staff
Sincerely
-Jim Morden

Community Involvement and Recognition

The biggest reason I shop at John Henry's isn't due to the fact that their staff is so friendly and knowledgeable, nor is it because the mechanics take serious pride in their top-notch work. It's because of their commitment to community involvement - giving back to the community that supports them, something I feel is very important. Not a lot of shops do this, and none come close to the standard set by John Henry's.

To John Henry the Bicycle Man
John Henry is, without a doubt, one of the best shops I can imagine. The service department is fantastic (which is probably why you see me in there so often!), the summer riding programs are near perfect (and so great to refer people to), and the whole atmosphere is ideal (how nice is it to know you'll be treated well no matter how long you've been riding or how busy the shop is when you walk in). Besides that, if everyone did even half as much for the mountain biking community as you guys do ... Huge thanks, as always.
- Candace (Cycling BC Jugernaut)

Dear John Henry
I have had the unique opportunity to have dealt with John Henry the Bicycle Man for at least the last 6 years. When I was sponsored by other shops JH was always there to help, and when I had to move on from past sponsors and find support John Henry seemed to be the obvious choice. The over whelming commitment to quality customer service combined with seasoned mechanics that go the extra mile makes for a delicious mix of friendly and factual visits. Above all things John Henry the Bicycle Man are bike advocates to the core! Demonstrating their loyalty to their passion, cycling. From summer ride clubs to regular charitable events, JH days, cruiser rides and poker challenges there is always something going on for community involvement. I enjoy the broad range of products available and the extent of cycling knowledge that the store has to offer, riders from road experience to hard core trail all work there and live the life style. It always feels like family when I visit and the availability of a coffee shop makes my stays all that more desirable. I look forward to yet another season of riding and can't wait to see what lies around the corner from my local bike shop.
Sincerely
-Hoots Jay

I have been a loyal customer to John Henry since they opened in that little space more than 10 years ago. Despite my various nomadic uprootings from the North Shore to Vancouver through the years, I have continued to use John Henry as my primary means of purchasing, servicing and advising on anything bike related. I will always be willing to drive that extra distance to visit my 'neighbourhood shop'.
This is primarily for the consistency that I have always encountered there. I can always count on the friendliness of the people, the timeliness of the repairs getting done, the knowledge of the sales staff in pointing out what works, and more importantly, what will work for me. I think that the friendliness is passed on by the owners and their hands-on approach, though it is the staff that really makes it happen. And, if possible, this friendliness is only overshadowed by their concern for each customers experience and making sure that it is a good one.
Regards,
-Graham Tutti

To Whoever Answers the Emails,
My work and my riding has taken me to bike shops all over the US and Canada, and John Henry The Bicycle Man is at the top of the list. They have great service, a great range of products, and good coffee. I feel pretty lucky to have such an awesome shop as my local.
-Paul Done

Just a note to say, thank you for sponsoring the bikes on ice. Although Ihave never met these guys, I just wanted to say, it is businesses like yours that encourage and support people to live their dreams. what a wonderful feeling your company must have to be a part of something so very exciting. i am thoroughly enjoying their updates on the website and have heard them on cbc, which gave out their website...which of course highlights your company as a sponsor. I wish you much success in your business and again thanks for helping this dream come true for these guys.

cheers- Kootenay Judi
