Norco John Henry/NSMBA Fiver Race Review
On Thursday, August 4th Norco John Henry in association with NSMBA hosted round 7 of the Fiver series held on the trails of Mount Fromme. Crinkum Crankum, Lower Oilcan and Expresso were chosen to challenge the riders skills and speed. A fantastic race was had by all, thank you NSMBA.
Afterwards most of the riders and volunteers who make this series happen came down to us at Norco John Henry where we hosted the race apres. With thanks to our friendly sponsors at Central City Brewing we had beer on hand to rehydrate all the riders as well as burgers and hotdogs for anyone that needed to refuel also.
There was a Bike Valet station where our mechanics Brandon and our ambassador Owen gave some of the racer’s machine’s some much needed loving care.
Once the crowd had been fed and watered it was time for some friendly fun competition with our first annual Fiver Mini Bike Race. Racer’s onboard our custom Norco Fluid 2.3 20” plus tire bike had to do two laps our race course while making stops to spin around a pole and drink a beer or tell a joke.
25 riders took part in the race with some quick times as well as funny jokes and spilt beer but in the end it was Brian Wilson who took the glory and the IXS Trail Helmet with a time of 44.25 seconds.
Thanks to everyone who took part, to NSMBA for putting the race together and to Central City Brewing for providing the lubrication! Hope to see you all again next year!
